Answers to questions about the new protocols that have been put in place to promote cleanliness, social distancing, and reduced physical contact, as well as how to plan for and what to expect during your visit.

NOTE: We have implemented several new operational and visitor protocols aligned with state and local requirements, guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, and industry recommendations. Information is location specific, and protocols and operating hours are subject to change. As you make your plans and before you leave home, please review visitation information of the location you plan to visit.

Are you limiting capacity?

Yes. Following state and local requirements and to allow for proper physical distancing within Crayola Experience, we are limiting attendance to 50 percent capacity until further notice. Additionally, our theater show is limited to 25 percent capacity.

What if we're late for our reserved time?

We understand. Sometimes you run late. We'll do our best to get you in as soon as you arrive. Please be aware that entry is subject to capacity limitations. If the entry time when you arrive is unavailable, we’ll get you in at the next available time that accommodates your party.

Are you limiting how long guests can stay once they’ve entered the attraction?

No. Feel free to stay as long as you are enjoying yourselves… or until we close! 

Will we be able to leave the attraction and reenter on the same day?

Yes. You will receive a wristband when you enter the attraction. The band confirms that you’ve been screened and also allows you to leave and reenter the facility that same day.

Are face masks required?

Yes. In accordance with Centers for Disease Control recommendations, guests ages 3 and older in the attraction and Crayola Store are required to wear a face masks except while eating or drinking. Crayola Experience team members also are required to wear face masks.

Face masks should include at least two layers of fabric, completely cover your nose and mouth and chin, and fit properly so there are no large gaps between the mask and the sides of your face. Masks containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind, bandanas, veils/scarves, and costume masks are not acceptable face coverings.

If you forget or lose your face masks, we have some available for purchase in the Crayola Store.

Remember – the use of face masks is not a substitute for physical distancing.

What is considered an appropriate face mask?

Face masks in line with Centers for Disease Control guidelines are considered appropriate. They should include at least two layers of fabric, completely cover your nose and mouth and chin, and fit properly so there are no large gaps between the covering and the sides of your face. 

Masks containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind, bandanas, veils/scarves, and costume masks are not acceptable face coverings.

What if we forgot or lost a face mask?

We have face masks available for purchase in the Crayola Store.

Will guests have to undergo an entry screening?

Yes. Upon arrival at the attraction, everyone in your party will be asked screening questions and have their temperatures checked with no-touch thermometers. Names will not be recorded but you may be denied entry depending on results.

Based on guidance from health authorities, if anyone in your party displays a temperature of 100.4 F or higher, no one in your party will be permitted to enter.

Before you leave home, be sure to check the temperatures of everyone in your party—including yourself—as a precaution. Also, if you or anyone in your party are sneezing, coughing, or generally not feeling well, please visit us on a day when you are feeling better. We will gladly reschedule your visit for an alternate date.

Do we have to arrive early for the entry screening? Where will they be performed?

The entry screening and temperature check will be conducted at the door as you enter the attraction. You do not have to arrive early.

What precautions are your employees taking?

Our team members have been trained on new workplace and operational protocols. Upon arrival for work each day, team members will complete an entry screening and have their temperature checked. If a team member has a temperature 100.4 F or higher, or shows signs of illness, he/she will be sent home. Additionally, team members are required to wear a face mask.

How will you promote social distancing?

While you are visiting us, you may notice some temporary adjustments to facilitate physical distancing guidelines. These include:

  • Reduced capacity within the attraction and for theater shows.
  • Requiring guests to carry all personal belongings in clear bags to prevent the need for hands-on security checks.
  • Directional signage and distance markers to allow for proper distancing when in line for tickets, retail and food purchases, activities, and restrooms.
  • Touchless e-ticketing for general admission tickets purchased on site at a cashier or kiosk.
  • Temporary modification or closure of certain activities.
  • New seating arrangements in our café and theater.  
  • Acrylic barriers around guest relations and registers throughout the attraction and Crayola Store.
  • Self-service credit/debit card terminals at registers in the attraction and Crayola Store.
  • Team members engaging with guests to promote physical distancing in common areas.

What are your cleaning procedures?

As a family attraction, cleanliness has always been a top priority for us. And with our new operational protocols, that commitment is even more evident.

  • The attraction has been cleaned from ceiling to floor by custodial staff prior to our reopening.
  • We’ve trained our team members in sanitation protocols, and regularly reinforce personal preventive hygiene best practices.
  • Sanitation teams, as well as Attractions and Retail team members, have increased the frequency of regularly wiping down and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as tabletops, counter tops, stools, computer screens, doors, handrails, trash containers, water fountains and restrooms throughout the attraction, café and Crayola Store.
  • Crafting tools are sanitized between uses.
  • We perform an end-of-day cleaning of the facility.

We also need your help. Please let any team member know if you see something that needs to be addressed.

Are there hand sanitizer stations available?

Yes. In fact, we’ve added additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the attraction. These stations are checked regularly, but please contact a team member if you see one that needs to be refilled. We also encourage guests to use our restroom facilities frequently to wash their hands for 20 seconds or more.

Are you accepting cash?

To reduce physical contact, we strongly recommend contactless payments for any transactions at this time. We have self-service payment terminals at registers in the attraction and Crayola Store, and accept major credit cards, debit cards, most payment apps, and Crayola Experience gift cards. We can accept cash but we do not accept personal checks.

What kind of bags (purses, backpacks, diaper bags) are allowed?

Only clear bags are permitted in the attraction. Like many other venues, we conduct bag checks for security reasons. We’ve implemented touchless bag checks so we can maintain social distancing and reduce physical contact. 

This means that personal belongings – including items typically carried in purses, backpacks, and diaper bags – must be carried in clear bags. The wallet or small makeup bag you carry in your purse or backpack can be placed into the clear bag without emptying its contents. Additionally, small wristlet purses are allowed.

Opaque/solid bags large enough to conceal items not allowed into our attraction are not permitted. We recommend you bring only what you need into the attraction.

We understand that this can be an inconvenience. While clear bag policies have been common practice at certain entertainment venues such as concerts and sporting events, it is new for Crayola Experience.

Clear tote bags and backpacks are available from a variety of big box stores, sporting goods stores, and online suppliers, as well as in the Crayola Store. You also can use clear baggies or clear pockets on strollers. (You can even drop your belonging in the stroller bin). We just need to be able to conduct the bag check from a distance and without contact.

Do you have lockers to store personal belongings?

Lockers, where present, are not available for use at this time.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes. Strollers are allowed but they must be smaller than 31 in. (79 cm) wide and 52 in. (132 cm) long. Stroller wagons of any size are prohibited.
